119 - The Key to Praying for All Nations

Letter From the Editor:

Today and tomorrow, 100 million believers from around the world will take their place on the walls of Jerusalem to pray. We hope you will join us. The following Briefing gives prophetic details of the times we are in and how you can join us in focused prayer. Let’s raise a united voice of intercession for the redemption of the Jewish People and a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit that touches the ends of the earth!

The Key to Praying for All Nations

A few years ago, a young Jewish intercessor named Nava described how there was a light wind blowing in the room where she sat across a table from Lou Engle. It felt to her as if they were in the upper room where the disciples had met together in Jerusalem. Nava lives in Israel and is a family friend of the Engles. She had been contemplating sharing with Lou a recent dream she had, so she asked God to confirm the matter. That night she found herself in another dream where Lou was sitting with her in this place.

In the dream, Nava told Lou her prior dream which spoke of him as a Moses that would lead Israel out of captivity. She also said that Hosea comes before the book of Joel. She explained that in order to see revival, both the Church and Israel had to stop being a “prostitute” and needed to return to their first love. She then said,
“After Hosea comes the book of Joel which is full of hope for revival.” Nava sensed an urgency to tell Lou one more thing before she woke up. She spoke to him firmly, saying, “You cannot bring revival to America if you don’t pray for the Jews.” She said this twice before the dream ended.

This prophetic message from Nava’s dream is very similar to what God told the famous German evangelist Reinhard Bonnke. In the book To the Jew First, by Ari Sorko-Ram, the author writes of a conversation he once had with Reinhard about the key to reaching the nations with the gospel. Reinhard told him that the Lord had spoken to his heart to pray for Israel. Reinhard thought that meant God was sending him to Israel, but God said, “No.” Twice Reinhard questioned God over why he should pray for Israel if God was not sending him to Israel? Finally the Lord responded saying, “Reinhard, if you pray for Israel, ….. I will give you Africa!”

I
n Romans 11:15, Paul explains why our intercession for Israel is key to global revival: “For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?” Prayer for Israel, God’s firstborn, is agreement with the great plan of God’s heart for His salvation to reach them and the ends of the earth.

This brings us back to Nava’s dream of a progression from Hosea to the book of Joel. Both Israel and the Church were described as being in the book of Hosea at the time of the dream. But where are we now? The fulcrum of Joel’s prophecy is found in Joel 2:15 where the prophet declares, “Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly.” After that, everything turns. Joel, of course, was speaking to a specific time in Israel’s history. However, could it be that God, who sees the end from the beginning, may have also been looking forward to this time when the prophet penned his words?

In Joel 2:18, we read that after the fast, “The Lord was jealous for his land and took pity on his people.” Also in Joel 2:28 it says, “Afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.”

Chris Berglund had a powerful dream near the end of the 40-Day Yeshua Fast of 2021 that also speaks to this. In his dream, Chris saw a finger point to Psalm 102:13-17. It was said, "Lou’s in that passage right now. He’ll understand." Just then a fig tree and a blossoming grapevine sprang forth from these verses of the Bible. We understand from the scriptures that the fig tree represents Israel and the grapevine is often a symbol of the Gentile church. God wants both to flourish in this hour.

You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come; For her stones are dear to your servants; her very dust moves them to pity. The nations will fear the name of the Lord. All the kings of the earth will revere your glory. For the Lord will rebuild Zion and appear in his glory. He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea. Ps 102:13-17

When this dream was given, thousands around the world were fasting and praying together for Israel for 40 days. Now, just two years later, over 5 million believers are fasting and praying. On May 27th through May 28, 100 million believers from around the globe will all be focused in prayer for Israel! When it’s God’s appointed time to show His favor to Israel, then it seems to be that God also appoints a time for massive fasting and prayer unto that end.

As the Isaiah 62 Fast draws to a close, we invite you to join us in the following prayer points that we can agree with now and in the days to come:

1) Pray for “Access” (as mentioned in The Briefing 118) - That God will open a door into the Holy of Holies, so to speak, and that a new realm His glory will be released in the earth (Joel 2 and Acts 2).

2) Pray Against the Haman Spirit - Breaking the power of anti-semitism that has been escalating in our days. Also, let’s pray that Jewish Esthers will arise to save their people.

3) Pray for an Esther Movement in America - That women (and Mordecais) will take their place before the King in intercession for Israel from now until the end of the age.

4) Pray Revelation 12 - That something happens out of these 21 days to defeat the accuser of the brethren unto a great uniting of Jew and Gentile believers as the “one new man”.

5) Pray for Favor for Israel - That the enemy would not prevail in changing times and seasons, but that God’s appointed time of favor for the Jewish people would be fully manifest in Israel and also in the Gentile nations (Ps 102).
