087 - His Times and Seasons

Letter From the Editor
Yesterday was Inauguration Day and many, here and abroad, who have fasted and prayed for an alternative ending to these elections are far from satisfied. In times like this, it is especially important for us to perceive what God is saying and to rest in His word rather than settle in our circumstances. Therefore, today’s Briefing brings you our most recent revelation and honest assessment of what we have received prophetically from the Lord.

HIS TIMES AND SEASONS

You say, “I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge with equity.” Psalm 75:1

Our God is a God of justice. However, we believe that what took place in the elections and what’s been done to twist the truth, to keep alleged evidence of voter fraud from being tried in court, and to malign and silence President Trump and others, is anything but just. Now, as we anticipate the impact that an unrestrained Biden administration would have on our nation and the globe, a rising tide of injustice seems to be fast approaching.

Yet, we are not without hope that the tide can and will be turned. But we do not yet know how this is to be accomplished. Meanwhile, the Lord has been speaking to us about an active posture of waiting.

Within the past week, Chris Berglund had a dream in which our team was seated near a large bonfire that kept us warm as Lou Engle was reading Psalm 35. Chris noticed there was a marked peacefulness upon us as we sat listening to this passage of scripture.

Psalm 35 is a psalm of David describing his appeal to God to intervene and judge his enemies in a time of great opposition and injustice. Though it is unknown in what season of David’s life this psalm was written, it is likely referring to the great struggles and persecution he experienced as a fugitive during the reign of Saul.

We couldn’t help but notice in this psalm that the assault against David carries many similarities to that which has come against President Trump. On a larger scale, it can apply to us all in our intercession for the nation, or even as conservatives in opposition with leftist agendas. Yet, we sense this psalm was not divinely highlighted just so we could relate to David’s troubles, but that we might enter into his faith and his very prayer.

It is also worth noting the peace and calm that was experienced in Chris’ dream. Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” In these days of threat and turmoil, it is vital that we remain warmed by the fires of intimacy and focused on the character of God. Though circumstances have not lined up with our understanding of His will, we trust in God himself and HIs commitment to His word.

A similar passage that has guided our prayers and expectations over recent months is Psalm 75. The psalmist starts by saying, We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds. You say, “I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge with equity.” Praise and thanksgiving are always a right response for God’s people. But in this context, they flow from a revelation that God is near and will, most certainly, act. Our sense is that the stage of history has been set for a similar display of God’s judicial interpositioning as seen in this psalm.

Along these lines, Chris had another dream just a few nights ago in which it was whispered in his ear, “His times and seasons are not for the faint of heart.” The language of this dream readily brings to mind Galatians 6:9…

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

For those who are listening, this whisper carries quite a shout. The dream, in combination with this verse, acknowledges a sovereign timing element at play. It seems to suggest that the challenge of our current circumstance is not that we have failed, or had the wrong target, but that we’ve actually done well and must continue doing so. We believe this has a direct application to our national scenario in regards to the reaping of answered prayers. We also sense that the dream speaks to the global harvest of souls that has been prophesied to this generation.

In all, the message we are presently discerning from the Lord is one of encouragement and affirmation. Regardless of how things may appear in the natural, this is not a time to lose heart. Let us take up these psalms of prayer and press on together towards the promises.
